N.7th/Bedford - Williiamsburg, Brooklyn

Libre Libro is now in effect! Mission Accomplished in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Within minutes after Keith and I setup box, passerbys were interested and taking books. We had many fans and grateful people who loved the idea. Some people even asked if they can drop off books to donate. We setup our Libro Box on N.7th/Bedford over unused L magazine box, will be checking back over next few days to see the progress.

Hasta Pronto,
Senor Josue Sternlicht

  1. This is a great project and I hope you keep doing it! I looked up the rules for street vending, and selling items like books and art does not require a permit because it falls under protections of free speech:http://www.nyc.gov/html/sbs/nycbiz/downloads/pdf/street_vending.pdf. It would be a good experiment to see how long a home-made library box would last. Also, Flatbush Brooklyn (on Cortelyou Road near Vox Pop) might be a good location for a box.
